Matador seeks out multifamily workforce housing assets with the goal of joint venturing / co-investing alongside notable sponsors that are sourcing and underwriting compelling off-market deals across diversified sub-markets.
Our team consists of industry veterans and investment professionals experienced in working with top multi-family sponsors on the underwriting, financing, capital raising and asset management of commercial real estate in the U.S. Prior to our formation of Matador Capital, we collectively closed a significant volume of transactions over the years, consistently delivering strong risk-adjusted returns for our investors.

Larry Bank
Managing Principal
Larry Bank is the Managing Principal & Co-Founder of Matador Capital Management LLC, where he oversees all functions within the organization including transaction sourcing, corporate strategy, acquisitions, and capital markets activities. Mr. Bank has been involved in the investment in and acquisition of over 12,500 multifamily units. Previously, he was the founder of The Bank Companies in 1993 which was later merged with Newmark Knight Frank. He is a member of Washington DC Economic Club and a sitting member of the board for Metropolitan Washington Board of Trade and The Fishing School. Mr. Bank holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Maryland (1987).

Andy Quartner
Managing Partner & General Counsel
Andy Quartner is the General Counsel & Co-Founder of Matador Capital Management LLC, where he oversees all equity partnership structures, compliance, and documentation of each transaction. Mr. Quartner has 40 years of experience as an attorney with a commercial practice involving a wide variety of financial and other transactions. He serves or has served, as general counsel for Pendrell Corporation, Kosmos Management LLC, Cellport Systems, and Blue Ridge China Partners LP. He spent ten years as lead internal transactions counsel for McCaw Cellular Communications, and six years for XO Communications. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale College and with honors from Columbia Law School.

Catherine Gray
VP of Operations
Catherine is the Vice President of Operations at Matador Capital, where she overseas investor relations, HR, marketing, and general operations of the company. Prior to working at Matador she worked at Taussig Capital as Executive Director of Relationships and at Training The Street, where she helped teach excel fundamentals, corporate finance, financial modeling and valuation. She graduated from NYU Stern with an MBA specializing in finance, accounting, and financial instruments & markets. She also has a B.S. in Chemistry from Emory University.

Alex Driessen
VP of Acquisitions
Alex Driessen is the Vice President of Acquisitions at Matador Capital Management LLC, where he is responsible for the acquisitions and asset management of the firm. His primary focus is on sourcing and underwriting potential acquisitions, due diligence, financial analysis of joint venture structures and partnerships, and the asset management of acquired properties. Previously, Alex worked at U.S. Bank in the commercial real estate finance division. Alex is also the co-founder of an investment and property management platform with approximately $10 million AUM. He holds a B.S. in Finance and International Relations from Boston College as well as an M.S. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

OUR VALUES
Matador general partners commit at least 15% of the required capital in each transaction. Our view is that if the deal does not merit the Partners’ personal capital, it does not merit our Investors’ capital

Matador fully underwrites the sponsor’s due diligence and evaluates the asset and deal on a standalone basis. We look to assure that investors are participating in only the best deals possible
